Like they have a connection that's been almost forced upon them by the Web and I'd love to see something exploring that. Something something the red string of fate connecting them is made of spiderwebs something something and maybe they're not on the same side but they have a connection with each other regardless

For MaryGertrude, hashtag the toxic yuri archives or something. I basically listened to that Mary Keay statement episode thinking "now kiss" the whole time lmao. It's canon to me that Gertrude and Mary had a hate-filled toxic fling at some point, I just know it, and anyways I'd love to see a take on that

So I'm definitely thinking of this ship in context of Strength of the Few because reading Relucia's reaction to Lanistia's imprisonment and calling her "Lani" made the yuri sensors go off. I'd love to see something exploring how Relucia having romantic/sexual feelings for Lanistia would massively complicate things for her with her work in Anguis and all. What if you were in love with the kinda sorta sister-in-law of the guy you're arranged married to who is a pretty important part of the government you're trying to destroy? And on Lanistia's part, it's delicious to me if she feels kind of guilty about the concept of having feelings for Relucia because 1) that's her best friend's wife and 2) is it a betrayal of Caeror to fall in love with someone else. Though another interpretation that's juicy to me is if Relucia's feelings for Lanistia are one-sided and just serving to make her have extra complicated emotions about what she does

For Oh Jinjoo/Yoon Soohyun, these are two characters that don't, as far as we know anyways, actually meet in canon, but I think both of these characters have unexplored sapphic potential in canon and I think it would be fun for them to do it with each other because I think they could complement each other well. Maybe in a post-canon situation (in a Yoon Soohyun lives au) where Yoon Soohyun and Kim Gaon are given the opportunity to really move on from their romantic feelings for each other (you can pair Gaon with Yohan, I love Gahan, but that's not what this exchange is about) and remain best friends.

For Jung Sunah/Oh Jinjoo, every time Jung Sunah speaks to Oh Jinjoo in the show, I felt like she was trying to seduce her like its nobody's business. So I would be interested in seeing the extended cut of that. Multiple lunches and dinners Jung Sunah treats Oh Jinjoo to in an effort to try to fully turn her over to her side. Maybe she even gets her in bed too idk. Preferably canon-compliant, cuz I think it's juicier that way, but I wouldn't say no to an au where Jung Sunah lives either

The Masked Person extra has made me very interested in both Li Yanru and Wan Ningxiang. They are such mysterious figures to me. Li Yanru in particular oozes main character energy, but I can't exactly ask for you to give me the 7 volume prequel baihe novel about her 😂. Both of the characters leave me with a lot of questions about their canon actions (why did Li Yanru disappear instead of accepting Nangong Rang's offer to come lead after the death of her brother? What sort of relationship did Li Yanru have with Nangong Sunu and was she ever intending to spare Nangong Sunu in her Qi Yan-led revenge plot? Why was Wan Ningxiang such a controversial figure as a concubine? What exactly were each character's respective political roles in the former dynasty?) and I would be very interested in having some of those questions answered

For QiJing, Qiyan Agula is such a Horse Girl™️ and one of the saddest things about canon to me is how little she gets to ride horses or use her canonical superpower of being able to talk to and understand them so I'd like an au where she is able to do that. Give me the au (can be canon-adjacent or can be modern, I have no preference) where she stars as the main character of a Horse Movie™️ (wherein she tames the untamable wild horse to win the Big Race™️ and gets a rich girlfriend in the process or something like that. If you wanna work in QiJing’s whole secretly enemies-to-lovers thing/Qi Yan’s revenge arc somehow I would not be opposed). I'm just looking for something where she gets to both ride horses and marry her wife.

I’d love something post-canon. Preferably fluff, but I’m happy with angst as well. It’s now modern times and somehow fate wills that Cheng Qian is reunited with his, now very long-lived, sect members

Alternatively, a cisswap genderbend JWDS au where a Han Juwon that actually fits Kang Jinmook’s victim profile decides to use herself as bait instead of using Lee Geumhwa. She meets Lee Dongsik and the results are inconclusive. It would be fun if this Han Juwon actually does accidentally get herself kidnapped by Kang Jinmook too but is rescued before anything too permanent happens to her. Alternatively, I often think about how convoluted the character connections in MDZS would be in a modern au and how they lend themselves well for a messy family drama romcom-type vibe and I think Lingyi would be the perfect ship to do such a fic around for peak comedy. Maybe they’re going through the mortifying ordeal of falling for the kid you’ve known since you were both in diapers when your uncles (or I guess cousin in Lan Jingyi’s case) have beef with each other. Or maybe Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling meet and start dating while they’re away from their families only to realize that their families all know each other already cuz of some really convoluted ancient history and somehow everyone is Jin Ling’s uncle. Or something like that. Just soap opera comedy vibes

A note on historical au’s: I only like them when the country of origin of the characters is kept in mind. Like pls don’t randomly write a 1920s America au without properly considering and addressing what it would mean for Chinese characters to be in the US at that time period, you know? A note on not wanting to see shiguang smut: I tend to headcanon shiguang as being a ship that falls somewhere on the sex averse ace-spectrum so as a result I tend to prefer to not read sexual content of them. You obviously don’t have to portray them with the sexual orientation I headcanon them to be, but I do ask that you respect my request and don’t write me sexual content for them (unless you wish to do so in a way that’s exploring ace-spectrum sexual orientations. I will say I’m enthusiastic about reading shiguang smut in those situations but that’s about it 😅).

But with that said, I’m totally chill with reading sexual content of any kind (excepting the stuff on my DNWs of course) for VeinFei, so if you want to write crazy sex for them, by all means go wild

In general I have a wide and varied taste (which you can tell by seeing all the fandoms I write and read for 😂) and I’m very open-minded with the media I appreciate. Now I will elaborate a little bit on the character/relationships and additional tags I’ve chosen

Character/Relationships: Cheng Xiaoshi/Lu Guang, Cheng Xiaoshi & Lu Guang, Vein/Xia Fei, Vein & Xia Fei, Lu Guang (solo)

You may have noticed that I have chosen both “/“ and “&” tags for ShiGuang and VeinFei. This is because with both relationships I’m happy to see a romantic, platonic, both, or qpr interpretation of them.

Link Click, more than any other fandom I’m in, is one I appreciate for the ways in which it doesn’t really matter to me how the relationships between characters are defined, that all that’s important to me is the ways in which it’s clear that characters love and care about each other, and for me this is especially true of ShiGuang. It doesn’t matter to me if they’re platonic or romantic, neither, or both, what matters to me is that they have this immense love, trust, and devotion for each other (and they’re breaking time and space as a result, go gays!)

For VeinFei specifically, I enjoy seeing them stuck in this liminal kind of pre-slash space where they dance on the potential of turning their relationship romantic/sexual but hold back because of neuroses/hr violations/fear of exploitation/whatever

When it comes to Lu Guang, I’m mostly interested in what he’s thinking. What’s going on with this guy? What motivates him? Why does he make the choices that he does? How much does he really know about shit? What is his background? How many times has he looped really? What kind of relationship does he have with HOTHH that made him act like Cheng Xiaoshi’s jealous boyfriend in Yingdu? And so on

I’m very happy to have any of these tags used for any of the character/relationships I have requested for this event. But let me take these one at a time to explain what about them exactly that I like

Obviously I’m a lover of angst or I wouldn’t be in this fandom 😂. Link Click’s specific brand of angst as it connects to grief, abandonment, and difficulties within families is especially up my alley, but really I love all brands of angst (except for the ones listed in my DNWs). If this is the additional tag you choose, by all means pls go ham with the pain

Canon-divergence and canon speculation I’m going to group in the same category cuz until season 3 comes out there’s a lot of headcanons that could be or become canon 😂. I’m particularly preoccupied with what it would mean for Cheng Xiaoshi to dive into the past to save Lu Guang, or just finding out about Lu Guang’s time looping (is Lu Guang time looping? That seems to be up in the air in canon) in general, in the context of Shao Yuanyuan. What would it mean for Cheng Xiaoshi to throw away both Lu Guang’s rules and his own mother’s request he not mess with time so that she can save his father if he decided to dive into the past anyways? This is extra juicy to me if this scenario happens in an au where Li Tianchen really did kill Lu Guang with that stabbing.

This sort of bleeds into the character study tag, but I also in general have great interest in the concept of Lu Guang trapping himself in a self-imposed time loop (which you can tell because I’ve written that fic twice already 😂). I just always love the concept of gays breaking the world and trapping themselves in a time loop in effort to save their loved one, and I love that Link Click implies that this is happening with 2 different characters. I will say, canon is very vague right now about how many times Lu Guang has gone into the past, so I’d love to see your interpretation of this. How many times has Lu Guang time looped? And how are things different? Or the same? And how do you think Cheng Xiaoshi will react to this knowledge? Or even find out? And so on. (Mild tangent: I personally think Yingdu is the furthest back Lu Guang has ever gone, which is why he seems so off-guard and stressed for a lot of it, so that’s another thing to think about if this is the prompt you use)

For missing scenes, this can apply to literally any part of canon that has room for it, but I will say I’m particularly interested in Xia Fei and exactly how he dropped out of university (did he drop out of university?) and started modeling/doing sus stuff for Liu Xiao and the development of his and Vein’s relationship as we see it in canon. I’m also interested in Shiguang’s university days and the formal establishment of their whole photo diving business

Pining I feel is kind of self-explanatory lol. I will say I especially like this tag when it’s used in conjunction with other tags

For character study, I’m most specifically interested in something that looks at any of these characters’ motivations. I want to know why they do the things they do and what they think of other characters and so on

As a general note, for Link Click I tend to be most interested in canonverse, as you can see from my rambling mess of prompts above 😂, but do feel free do ignore all of that and write whatever your heart desires.
